KhKC #67 met Efrat Zehavi

Onze speciale gast voor KhKC #67 op vrijdag 20 april is EFRAT ZEHAVI (Haifa 1974). Ze heeft een buitengewoon aanstekelijke energie die ook in haar films zit. Ze is enorm productief als beeldhouwer, ‘visual artist’, filmmaker en verteller. We zijn supertrots haar bijna volledige filmwerk te kunnen vertonen en dat speciaal voor onze KhKC #67 een serie van haar foto’s wordt afgedrukt en gepresenteerd. Ze heeft er fascinerende verhalen bij. Thema’s zijn persoonlijk en reflecteren soms (gruwelijke) actualiteit (Breivik, James Holmes). Wat gaan we zien? Stop-motion animatie en kleipoppen in een groteske en absurdistische wereld van vrolijk feest en kleur die aan Jan Svankmaijer en James Ensor doet denken. Films o.a. TENTEREN VAN DE NACHT /PENETRATING THE NIGHT (2013), 7’40” en THE LAST MARCH (2011), 11’46”. Het voorprogramma (ca 17’) is een verrassing van JAN LEPPINK.

EFRAT is geen onbekende in Rotterdam. Atelier in de Drievriendenstraat, presentaties in TENT, Leeszaal West, OFF SCREEN, master bij PIET ZWART Instituut. Our special KhKC guest on Friday April 20th is EFRAT ZEHAVI (Haifa 1974). She has an extraordinary contagious energy also emanating from her films. Highly productive as sculptor, visual artist, filmmaker and storyeller. We are extremely proud to present the mayor part of her films and moreover to have a presentation for our KhKC #67 of especially printed photoworks. Themes are personal and may reflect (gruesome) actuality (Breivik, James Holmes). What will we see? Stop-motion clay animation in a grotesque and absurd world of happiness and color evoking Jan Svankmaijer and James Ensor. Films shown are TENTEREN VAN DE NACHT /PENETRATING THE NIGHT (2013), 7’40” en THE LAST MARCH (2011), 11’46” and more. The preprogramm (17’) is a surprise by JAN LEPPINK.
