Let's celebrate in music and in friendship the end of Anaphora's research residency at Tante Nino !
Together with Anaphora Trio, Aunty Nino ( Ie: every lonely musician's adopted mother in Rotterdam) is inviting all of the curious ears, kind souls, exploratory hearts and wandering minds of the Rainy City to come together for a night of music.
The Trio will present the results of their time spent rehearsing and composing new material for their upcoming album, focusing on rhythmic and timbrical research, unfolding around the prepared piano and a musical topography of loops, cycles and their subversion thereof.
Come together or alone, by bike, by foot or by horse, but always come with a smile (and an attentive ear for feedback!)
------- Anaphora is a musical organism focused on Improvisational research. Lines of tensions are built between a diagram of bodies which improvise themselves on their instruments. Production of sounds. Response. And the organism moves. It stretches or relaxes according to the bodily and acoustic impulses that structure it.
Anaphora has released its debut album, Lexicon I (Auand Records), in April of 2022, garnering positive review internationally (Best of Jazz US, Jazz Magazine France etc.) The band has won the 2nd prize of the Krokus Jazz Festival and is amongst the recipients of Italy Music Export 2022, and is supported by the Flemish V.G.C. and Goethe "Culture Moves Europe" Fund
