Advanced Improvisation Workshop

Skill level: Intermediate to experienced players

Following on from 'Beginners Improvisation', this workshop delves deeper into the use of 'classical' compositional techniques in spontaneous music making, such as repetition, elongation, diminution, retrograde, dynamics and many more! We will listen and identify these techniques from recordings of the masters and practically apply in active music-making. To conclude, participants will have an opportunity to create meaningful spontaneous music in a live performance setting.

A piano and drumkit are available at the venue.
